City Hall to be closed with furloughs on Friday

    The City of Milwaukee will implement a mandatory furlough program that includes a shutdown of the majority of city services on Friday.
    Most City of Milwaukee employees will not report to work on Friday.
    The following city services will not be affected: public safety, including police, fire and EMT; parking enforcement; the tow lot; water works 24-hour emergency service; the call center and City Hall operator.
    City Hall and other city office buildings will also be closed on Friday. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, June 1.
    Garbage and recycling will not be collected Friday, May 28, or Monday, May 31, as city offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day. Garbage collection will resume on Tuesday, June 1.
