What does your daily or weekly fitness regimen consist of?

Three days a week of weights and cardio. One day a week of indoor soccer. I play on a over 40 indoor soccer team during the winter months and then play outdoor soccer during the summer months. I play soccer every week of the year. I also coach two soccer teams in which I actively participate, teach and coach in practices four days a week.

What fitness clubs do you belong to, if any?

Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life?

Regular exercise not only makes me feel better but it also gives me a personal challenge to improve in different parts of my life.  Soccer not only gives me a great cardio workout, it also allows me to appreciate the sport better. This, I believe makes me a better teacher and coach for the kids I work with. Soccer also has taught me the importance of teamwork and personal improvement.

How does personal fitness affect your work life?

There are many benefits. The ability to play soccer with a many different people has allowed me to meet many different professionals and also establish a bond with many new people. Exercise also gives me the ability to listen to my iPod that includes many leadership books, downloads and articles that help me to be continuous learner.

How does fitness or wellness affect your overall organization?

I think the ability to exercise provides an amount of creativity, calmness, and idea generation that is enjoyed by all.

What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative?

Challenge yourself… break down the status quo of your life and not only will you be happier, your family, friends and co-workers will also be happier!
