It was announced today that Peggy Troy, president and chief executive officer of the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, started her year-long term as chair of the Children’s Hospital Association board of trustees on Jan. 1.
“I look forward to serving as chair of the Children’s Hospital Association board of trustees and working with my fellow board members,” said Troy, who began her 40-year career in health care as a bedside nurse. “It’s so important that we work together to protect the unique needs of children, especially those with complex medical conditions. This is a great opportunity to advocate for all children in order to improve access to quality care. We are the voice for more than 220 children’s hospitals across the country and collectively we can protect, improve and advocate for the health of the children we serve.”
Troy became president and CEO of the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in 2009. Prior to joining the Children’s Hospital, Troy served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis, Tenn.; president and CEO of Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center, also in Memphis; and president of Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Troy is a member of the Greater Milwaukee Committee and serves as a director on the boards of Marquette University, the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce, the Blood Center of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Hospital Association and Teach for America.
