Chicago to host NCAA Frozen Four, gymnastics championships

    The United Center will host the 2017 NCAA Men’s Division I Ice Hockey finals — known as the “Frozen Four” — and UIC Pavilion will host the 2018 Men’s Gymnastics Championships, the NCAA announced today.

    Chicago beat out nine other finalist cities to host the college hockey semifinal and final games, including Buffalo, N.Y., Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Washington.

    The event will mark the first time the college hockey championships have been played in Illinois.
