Chicago City Council enacts $13 minimum wage

    The Chicago minimum wage is going up.

    By a 44 to 5 vote, the City Council today approved an ordinance that will boost the wage for most workers to $10 an hour in July and $13 by mid-2018. Future hikes will automatically be linked to the inflation rate.
