CenterPoint plans expansion of Sturtevant building for Goodwill

Oak Brook, Ill.-based CenterPoint Properties plans to build a 81,900-square-foot addition to its 150,000-square-foot industrial building at 1630 Enterprise Dr. in Sturtevant. The building will have a total of 238,000 square feet of space once the expansion is complete.

The building is currently occupied by a Goodwill Manufacturing Center for Work and Training. Goodwill employees do assembly and packaging work for contract customers.

Goodwill plans to move that manufacturing operation to a building at 5420 21st St., Racine, and plans to consolidate warehousing operations for its retail stores from that Racine building and a building in Pleasant Prairie to the expanded Sturtevant building, said Goodwill spokeswoman Cheryl Lightholder.

The Sturtevant Plan Commission recently granted conceptual approval for CenterPoint’s expansion plans.
