To help leaders optimize their strengths in leadership and accelerate positive change, Joanna Barsh and Johanne Lavoie have tied together research and life lessons into their new book, “Centered Leadership: Leading with Purpose, Clarity, and Impact.”
The book is not only a follow-up to the book “How Remarkable Women Lead,” which was written in part by Barsh, but also acts as an extension of the authors’ Centered Leadership seminars, workshops and programs. Their “Centered Leadership” mentality seeks to distinguish “leaders who have a profound and positive impact” from those who “do a fine but unremarkable job.”
According to the Centered Leadership mentality, top leaders excel in five dimensions – meaning, framing, connecting, engaging and energizing. Within these dimensions, they gain a keener sense of self-awareness and self-reflection.
“With those, comes greater choice of thought and action,” the authors write.
