Care-a-lotta to open up application process for 2013 charity efforts

Care-a-lotta, the philanthropic arm of The Bartolotta Restaurants, is seeking applications from regional nonprofit organizations for “Care-a-lotta Credits” and “Project Spot-On.”

“Care-a-lotta Credits” help fund food and beverages at nonprofits’ private events held at participating Bartolotta restaurants and catering sites. The philanthropic branch donates nine credits twice each year, broken down into three $10,000 sums, three $5,000 sums and three $2,500 sums. The Care-a-lotta board, comprised of Bartolotta employees, selects award winners through an extensive review and voting process.

“Project Spot-On” features a campaign highlighting one designated nonprofit organization each year. Through the campaign, Bartolotta works to spread that organization’s mission and identity throughout greater Milwaukee, including by allowing the organization to use Northpoint custard stand as an outlet for both outreach and fundraising.

This year’s “Project Spot-On” organization is Pathfinders, which offers shelter, counseling services, basic necessities and more to area homeless residents and underprivileged children.

The application process for both philanthropic opportunities will open up on Monday, July 1, and will run through Thursday, Aug. 15.

The Bartolotta Restaurants, based in Milwaukee, provides additional support opportunities to Milwaukee’s nonprofit community through the “Bartolotta Community Awards,” which grant 40 $100 gift certificates to nonprofits through a lottery each month. Certificates often act as fundraising drivers in silent auctions and benefit events.

All applications can be found and submitted online at www.bartolottas.com/care-a-lotta.
