The Financial Planning Association of Southern Wisconsin will present the seminar “Trends, Traps and Opportunities in Estate and Tax Planning After 2010” on Thursday, March 10 from 7:30 a.m. to noon at the Country Springs Hotel, 2810 Golf Rd., Pewaukee.

The presenter John "Jeff" Scroggin, has practiced business, tax and estate law in Atlanta, Georgia for 32 years, is an author, is often interviewed, and has been highly reviewed when he addressed the Chapter in the recent past. He will discuss income tax planning, estate tax avoidance, gifting, new estate tax portability rules, business exit planning and continuing uncertainty for clients after 2012.

The Wisconsin chapter of Midwest Business Brokers and Intermediaries (MBBI) will present the seminar “Innovations, Trends & Solutions for Deal Making” on Thursday, Feb. 17 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Milwaukee Athletic Club, 758 N. Broadway, Milwaukee.

The event will include sessions on employee stock ownership programs (ESOPs), current valuation trends and issues, a look at how an individual can buy a business, networking sessions and more.
