Calderone Club owner opening pizzeria next door on Old World Third

Restaurant would be located in former Thai Palace

The owner of the Calderone Club, an Italian restaurant on Old World Third Street, wants to open a pizzeria in the space next door, which formerly housed Thai Palace.

Giorgio “Gino” Fazzari has applied for a beverage retail license from the city of Milwaukee to open Pizzeria San Giorgio at 838 N. Old World Third St. The restaurant would be located between Calderone Club and Thai restaurant The King and I.

Fazzari could not immediately be reached for comment.

Fazzari owns the 3,600-square-foot property at 838 N. Old World Third St. The restaurant portion is about 2,500 square feet.

According to Fazzari’s application, he would like to open the pizzeria, restaurant and bar in September. It would be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Saturday and  would include a sidewalk café.

Thai Palace closed in 2013.
