C.I. Banker Wire & Iron Works to expand with 50,000-square-foot addition

Mukwonago-based C.I. Banker Wire & Iron Works Inc. recently began construction of a 50,000-square-foot addition to its 105,000-square-foot facility at 600 Perkins Dr.

The company manufactures woven wire fabrics for industrial and architectural applications. The company has been growing this year and has added 30 employees to its shop floor, increasing total employment in the shop to 93, said Harrison Horan, vice president of sales and marketing.

“In our industry this is a small niche business,” he said. “I think (the Great Recession) shook up the industry a bit. We lost a few competitors. We remained solid.”

C.I. Banker bought the building in 2009 for $4.3 million. It moved there from Muskego, consolidating from three buildings into one and added 10,000 to 15,000 square feet of additional space.

The expansion project is expected to be completed by the end of the year. C.I. Banker hired New Berlin-based Anderson Ashton Inc. to do the design and construction work for the project.
