C.H. Coakley & Company prepares for annual food drive

Milwaukee-based C.H. Coakley & Company is celebrating the fifth year of its citywide food drive,” Dinner on the Mayflower,” and is reaching out to Milwaukee’s business community to recruit additional company participants.

The annual food drive, named in part after the company’s Mayflower moving division, collects food for the Hunger Task Force as the Milwaukee nonprofit organization prepares its food inventory for the holiday season.

C.H. Coakley & Company welcomes any area company or organization to take part in the food drive by collecting nonperishable food items at their own worksite.

To participate, interested companies must contact event coordinator Lazelle Thomas-Conners at lazelle.thomas-connors@chcoakley.com or 414-372-7000 by Tuesday, Oct. 22. Each company will receive a food barrel at their workplace on Tuesday, Oct. 29, courtesy of delivery by C.H. Coakley & Company.

Companies will be able to store food donations in their barrel until Thursday, Nov. 21, when C.H. Coakley & Company will pick up all barrels with its Mayflower trucks.

Participation in the drive is just about effortless, said Michael Coakley, managing partner of the business management solutions firm.

“The goal of Dinner on the Mayflower is simple – help Milwaukee families in need have enough food to eat,” Coakley said. “We make this food drive fun and practically effortless for participating companies. Every company really should be involved.”
