Business is good for Wisconsin

Business is good for Wisconsin. Wisconsin is good for business. That’s the message Wisconsin’s economic development partners are conveying to businesses in the state and the nation through an advertising campaign targeting business leaders. We want to let the business world know that we are ready with bold ideas, leadership and resources to support business and job creation.

We want to take advantage of the national spotlight that has been on Wisconsin, and build upon our momentum of job creation to convey the message that there’s no better place for business success than Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) and more than 35 local, regional and state partners in business development have come together to run a unified message in full page regional ads in USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, Crain’s Business and in some Wisconsin business publications. The ad conveys a strong commitment from the participating organizations to work together to create new opportunities for businesses in Wisconsin.

The formation of WEDC one year ago signaled a new era for Wisconsin. Our state’s strong economic assets combine with the strength and optimism of our economic development network partners to create new opportunities for business and job growth in our state.

Wisconsin has one of the strongest economic development resource networks in the nation.

From our local and regional economic development organizations and industry associations to our education and training system, businesses have access to a vast array of knowledge, training and tools to help them succeed in Wisconsin. Our planned advertisement is just one strategy WEDC is executing to promote Wisconsin as a premier business destination.

While it is our hope that the advertisement will generate inquiries from businesses looking to start-up, locate or expand their operations in Wisconsin, we think by just conveying a positive message of unity will promote Wisconsin’s invigorated business climate.

I’m confident Wisconsin’s business development cooperation will spur business growth throughout the state. Wisconsin is the place where leadership, collaboration, talent, and momentum abound for business growth. We want the business world to know that as well.

Paul Jadin is secretary of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.
