Bucks owners raising $84 million from investor group

A recent SEC filing shows Bucks owners Wes Edens and Marc Lasry are raising $84.5 million from a group of minority investors.

New York-based Fear the Deer LLC, formerly known as Curia Acquisition LLC, issued the repurchase of existing equity interests, according to the July 17 filing. Lasry and Edens are listed as executive officers of Fear the Deer.

The investor group, comprised of prominent Milwaukee business owners, includes: Ted Kellner of Fiduciary Management, Jim Kacmarcik of Kapco, Craig Karmazin of Good Karma Brands, Michael Kocourek of Mid Oaks Investments, Keith Mardak of Hal Leonard Corp. and Teddy Werner of the Milwaukee Brewers.

Edens and Lasry purchased the team earlier this year for $550 million and said they planned to add some local investors.
