Milwaukee bikesharing company Bublr Bikes has added 10 new bike stations in Milwaukee.
They are located at:
- South Fifth Street and West National Avenue
- North Astor Street and East Juneau Avenue
- Bradford Beach
- North Prospect Avenue at East Ogden Avenue
- West North Avenue at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive
- East North Avenue and North Lake Drive
- Riverside Park
- North Oakland Avenue and East Bradford
- North Oakland Avenue and East Kenwood Boulevard
- West Pleasant Street and North Commerce
Bublr now has 57 bike stations in the Milwaukee area. All but one of the new stations were paid for with a $1.6 million federal Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality program grant the City of Milwaukee received in 2013, which has allowed for 30 installations. The station at South Fifth Street and West National Avenue was funded through a Tax Incremental Financing District formed by the Milwaukee Common Council in September 2015 to repave South Fifth Street.
The first Bublr station was installed in June 2013 at Discovery World. In September, the first stations were installed outside Milwaukee, with seven now operating in Wauwatosa.
“I am pleased that the Bublr Bikes bike share system continues to grow into our many city neighborhoods,” said Mayor Tom Barrett. “I am proud of the work that our Department of Public Works has done to more than double our outreach, and am happy that our partnership with Bublr Bikes is flourishing.”
