Dentists offer cash in exchange for Halloween Candy
Dr. James Michaels, a dentist from Oconomowoc is one of several Milwaukee area dentists leading an anti tooth-decay movement. Michaels is giving $1 for every pound of Halloween candy he receives.
“Kids can still experience the fun of trick or-treating, and now their piggy banks will benefit as well,” said Michaels.
According to Michaels, the sugar in candy can cause tooth decay as well as trigger weight gain and a feeling of tiredness.
Michaels is sponsoring the Halloween Candy Buy Back until Saturday, Nov. 5. Children can drop off their candy at his office located at 819 Summit Ave, in Oconomowoc.

Kohl’s teams up with Vera Wang for second collection
Kohl’s Department Stores has once again teamed up with designer Vera Wang to offer limited addition apparel and accessories to support the fight against breast cancer.
“We are thrilled to offer Simply Vera Vera Wang cause merchandise, designed by Vera Wang, in time for the holidays,” said Julie Gardner, Kohl’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer. “We launched the breast cancer cause merchandise program last year with a collection from Simply Vera Vera Wang. The program resonated so well with our customers that we are offering a second collection, making it easy for them to support the cause this season with great gifts that give back.”
Now through the end of January 2012, the limited-edition apparel, accessories and gifts can be found in all 40 Wisconsin Kohl’s stores and online at Kohls.com. The new collection features statement jewelry, clutches, coffee cups, totes and winter where and are available for $5 or $10 each with 100 percent of the net profit donated to support the fight against breast cancer.

Indulgence Chocolatiers to open boutique in Shorewood
Waukesha-based Indulgence Chocolatiers LLC today announced it will open its first chocolate retail boutique in the new Ravenna building at 4525 N. Oakland Ave. in Shorewood.
In the four years since Indulgence first introduced its artisan chocolate to the Milwaukee area, the company has worked to establish its wholesale business, now providing its chocolate confections to 80 food and wine establishments throughout Wisconsin.
Indulgence also sells its confections directly to consumers online and is active in the events industry, providing chocolate favors and dessert catering for weddings, corporate events, etc.
Indulgence owner Julie Waterman said, “We see the addition of a retail store as an opportunity to now connect more directly with our customers in a way we haven’t been able to in the past. With beautiful locally-handcrafted chocolates in unique flavor combinations, monthly tasting and pairing classes, and a knowledgeable staff, we believe our new store will be the destination for chocolate enthusiasts in the Milwaukee area. While we never take ourselves too seriously, Indulgence does take its chocolate seriously. Now we will be able share that passion with our customers by creating a unique store where they can come, taste, and learn.”
Regarding the store’s location, Waterman said, “We are looking forward to becoming part of the North Shore community, and we are particularly excited about being located in the new Ravenna development. It will be wonderful to be near so many other reputable businesses that are helping to transform North Oakland Avenue into a popular destination for people all over the Milwaukee metro area.”
With construction of the Ravenna building already underway, Indulgence’s chocolate boutique is scheduled to open in the summer of 2012.
