Friday, June 3 through Sunday June 5 the 2011 Historic Mitchell Street BID will host the Historic Mitchell Street Sun Fair, a revival of the historic neighborhood street festival Mitchell Street Days between 8th and 10th streets. The Sun Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and will include performances by performances by Folklorico Mexico and the young dancers of Academia de Danza Mexico. Saturday, June 4 Writecamp, the Milwaukee Writers Workshop, will be held at Mercy Hill Church and the Hide House at 2625 S Greeley St,, Milwaukee from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sessions on  writing both fiction and nonfiction, blogging, criticism, website writing, personal branding, ghost writing, freelancing, resume writing networking and more will be held throughout the day. Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 The Lake Express Ferry will do its Northern Tour, visiting ports in Kewaunee and Frankfort, Mich., At both locations, the ferry will dock and allow visitors to tour the ship and experience short cruises along the coastline. Lake Express will arrive in Kewaunee at approximately 8 a.m. on Saturday, June 4. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the public will be able to take free tours of the ship. For $10, individuals can purchase a reserved ticket to experience a ride on the nation’s first high speed auto-passenger ferry. Riders will be taken on a full speed run on Lake Michigan where they will be treated to the unique blend of modern amenities and speed that have been mainstays of the Lake Express service between Milwaukee and Muskegon since 2004. Tickets are limited with proceeds from ticket sales benefitting Kewaunee-area community groups. Lake Express will travel to Frankfort, Mich., overnight and do public tours from 9 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 5. Advanced purchase of excursion tickets at both Kewaunee and Frankfort are available by visiting www.lake-express.com.
