    • Tuesday, March 27 The Marquette University College of Business Administration’s Center for Supply Chain Management and the Wisconsin Procurement Institute will present a two-part, daylong series of presentations and panel discussions focusing on how Wisconsin and northern Illinois firms can tap into federal contract opportunities. The event, which will begin at 11:30 a.m., will be held at the Wisconsin Club, 900 W. Wisconsin Ave. Part one, “Navigating the Politics of Federal Procurement,” will begin at 1:30 p.m. The session includes two panel discussions and a keynote presentation by Brian Detter, deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Navy for expeditionary programs and logistics management. A reception for attendees, Marquette students, faculty and guests will conclude the session at 4:30 p.m. The evening program, “The Federal Supply Chain: Current Trends,” also will feature two panels and a networking opportunity. The event will conclude by 8 p.m.
    • Wednesday, March 28 The Milwaukee Press Club will host a Newsmaker Luncheon with Charles Franklin, professor and director of the Marquette Law School Poll on the largest independent polling project in Wisconsin history from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Newsroom Pub in downtown Milwaukee, 137 E. Wells St. The Marquette University Law School Poll provides a comprehensive, independent survey of voter attitudes in Wisconsin. Monthly polls measure voter attitudes toward the 2012 presidential and U.S. Senate elections; citizen reaction to current state policy debates and possible recall elections; and a wide range of opinions among Wisconsin voters. The polling initiative is led by Franklin, visiting professor of law and public policy at Marquette Law School and a nationally recognized expert in polling and voter analyses. Franklin will be interviewed by a panel of professional journalists.The public is invited to attend the luncheons. The cost to attend is $15 for MPC members, $20 for non-members, $10 for students.     • Thursday, March 29 The Humana Wellness Summit presented by BizTimes Media in partnership with the Wellness Council of Wisconsin will be held at the Crown Plaza Milwaukee West Hotel, 10499 Innovation Drive in Wauwatosa from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Dr. Thomas Van Gilder, market vice president and medical officer at Humana will keynote the event. In addition, a panel of executives will discuss their strategies and share ideas on worksite wellness. Panelists include: Rob Cowen, CEO of Badger Alloy; Linda Hogan, vice president and group leader at Bader Rutter; Alan Petelinsek, principal owner Power Test, Inc; Tyler Roberts, CHES, health promotions manager-Rexnord Industries and Tina Semotan, vice president of HR and organizational development at Franklin Energy. The Wellness Council will also honor the winners of the inaugural Light of Wellness Awards. Cost to attend is $35 or $280 for a corporate table of eight. To register visit www.biztimes.com/wellness.
    • Friday, April 6 Sprecher Brewery will host a Good Friday Fish Fry and a Brewery Tour at 5 and 6 pm, after which guests can enjoy free samples of the award-winning beer
      and gourmet soda brewed on site. Saz’s Catering created a sumptuous buffet menu just for this event which includes: Sprecher Pub Ale Fried Cod, Baked Cod and Chicken Fritters; Potato Pancakes, Saz’s Sour Cream and Chive Fries, Fresh Sprecher Bread and Rye Rolls; New England Clam Chowder, Creamy Coleslaw; Tossed Salad; Sprecher Root Beer Cookies and Orange Dream Brownies. Cost to attend is $25.50 plus tax for adults and $11.50 plus tax for children. Gratuity is not included. Guests receive tour, two free seven ounce beer samples and a commemorative glass. Unlimited soda samples and buffet. Additional beer will be available for purchase. Reservations for this feast of flavors are required and should be made by March 23.
