La Crosse-based Brothers Bar & Grill has 16 locations in 10 Midwestern states. Its downtown Milwaukee location opened in 2005. The chain is owned by Fortney Hospitality Group Inc. Brothers has expanded into an adjacent two-story 4,420-square-foot building, previously home to Milwaukee Molding & Frame Corp. According to state property records, Fortney, Fortney & Fortney LLP purchased the property for $1 million in October 2019, which is about a year after the 100-year-old retailer closed. Face coverings and social distancing guidance will be enforced from open to close, according to the release.
