Hydrite Chemical Co. is the first tenant announced for Golf Parkway Corporate Center at The Corridor, Milwaukee-based Irgens Partners LLC's mixed-use development along the north side of I-94, west of Calhoun Road, in Brookfield. According to a news release, Hydrite, a Brookfield-based provider of chemicals and related services, will move its headquarters into a two-story building planned for the office park. Hydrite will occupy the entire 45,000-square-foot building, a nearly 20,000-square-foot increase from its existing 26,000-square-foot Brookfield office at 300 N. Patrick Blvd. The added space gives the company room to grow in the future, according to a release. "As a long-standing Brookfield-based company, we are excited to locate our new headquarters building at The Corridor, where the location offers many amenities for our employees and customers," Paul Honkamp, chief executive officer of Hydrite, said in a statement. "Our new corporate headquarters facility is an investment in our future." Tom Irgens, executive vice president of Irgens, said construction of the building is slated to begin this fall, and Hydrite should be able to move in at the start of 2022. "Hydrite’s new state-of-the-art headquarters building will provide a modern, safe and healthy business environment for its continued growth," he said. "Irgens is pleased to welcome Hydrite to Golf Parkway Corporate Center and looks forward to helping build the future for the continued success of the Hydrite team." Hydrite is a family owned company established in 1929, and employs nearly 1,000 people in 25 states. It has a network of manufacturing facilities, warehouses and laboratories in Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Indiana, California and Texas. Its expertise is in chemical distribution and manufacturing, food and dairy sanitation, organic processing, liquid sulfites, foam control, water treatment and compliance management services. Irgens is also planning to construct a six-story, approximately 190,000-square-foot office building at the corporate park. The firm has not yet announced any tenants for that building. The office buildings are to be built on land near the southwest corner of Golf Parkway and South Calhoun Road. They are one component of The Corridor, which is also comprised of the Life Time Brookfield fitness center, ProHealth Care clinic, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites and Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott hotels, and retailers and restaurants including Dick’s Sporting Goods, Portillo’s, Old Navy, Five Below and Party City.
