What does your daily or weekly fitness regimen consist of?

Workouts at the gym 6-7 days a week including a 60-90 minute mix of cardio (spin classes, stair master and treadmill) and weight training with a trainer or on my own. I work out early in the morning so I’m home with my kids before they go to school and my husband and I head to work.

What fitness clubs do you belong to, if any?

North Shore Elite

Other than the obvious health benefits, how has being fit improved your life?

Being fit helps me lead a very active life. I always want to be the mom that jumps in and keeps up with her kids.

How does personal fitness affect your work life?

Morning workouts start my day. I feel more alert, more focused and ready to take on work. I also travel a fair amount and working out at home and on the road gives me more stamina to keep an aggressive schedule.

Do you have a corporate health or wellness initiative?

No

How does fitness or wellness affect your overall organization?

As a small business owner, my business partner and I have always believed in flexible work schedules. I think it’s possible for everyone to work exercise into their daily lives if they want to. And since relaxation is a big part of wellness, we have a massage therapist at our offices every other week so everyone on staff can refuel with 20-minute massages.

What advice do you have for other executives interested in starting either a personal fitness plan or corporate wellness initiative?

Get a personal trainer to help you develop a personal fitness plan, and then invest in at least one weekly session. My trainer changed the way I work out. He pushes me to work my hardest and reach constantly changing goals. I’ve tried a lot of gyms and plenty of workout routines, but nothing solidified my commitment to exercise until I got a personal trainer.
