Construction work is well underway at Milwaukee Tool’s new downtown Milwaukee office, at 501 W. Michigan St. The former Assurant building is getting a significant facelift. The latest rendering shows a wall of glass and a red Milwaukee Tool-branded wall design on the building’s eastern façade.

The company said it aims to occupy the building in February. It could eventually have up to 2,000 employees working there. The company is receiving $20 million in city incentives for the project.

It acquired the building from Milwaukee-based F Street Group for $7.9 million in May.
