The proposal would add 65,000 square feet to the existing 48,253-square-foot warehouse and office, with the option to build a 39,000-square-foot addition in the future. The proposal would add four loading docks and require the extension of 20th Street to the south.

The Oak Creek Plan Commission approved site and building plans for the project on Tuesday.

Architect Erik Madisen of Madisen Maher Architects, Inc. told the commission the company believes it will eventually complete the entire 104,000-square-foot addition, but is doing it in phases for economic and cost reasons.

Black Bear makes and bottles beverage for regional and national brands and has glass, plastic and bag-in-box filling capabilities.

The company has 25 full-time employees and five part-time, with 10 working at the 20th Street location. The company also has operations nearby at 2025 W. Southbranch Blvd.
