Around 10.2% of Wisconsinites’ income went to state and local taxes in the 2020 fiscal year, the lowest level since at least 1970, according to a new report from the Wisconsin Policy Forum.

Wisconsin’s exports declined 7%  in the first 11 months of 2020.

The Milwaukee-area manufacturing index was 55.54 for December, down from 61.96 in November. A reading above 50 indicates the sector is growing.

Real gross domestic product for the state grew at a 40.3% annualized rate from the second quarter to the third, a rate that ranks ninth in the country.

Wisconsin’s unemployment rate dropped from 6% in October to 5% in November.
