BizTimes Morning Headlines: TDS acquires IT company for $45 million

TDS is adding to its presence in the information technology field with the purchase of Vital Support Systems, a Des Moines IT company, for $45 million.

Telephone and Data Systems, the publicly traded, Chicago parent of TDS Telecommunications Corp. of Madison, announced the acquisition Monday, the fourth in less than two years for TDS’ Hosted & Managed Services unit, a wholly owned subsidiary also based in Madison and managed by TDS Telecom.
