Notre Dame Middle School

Notre Dame Middle School, 1420 W. Scott St., Milwaukee, will expand operations to include a primary school for grades K5 through 4 beginning in the 2012-13 school year. The new campus will be located at 1115 S. 7th St., Milwaukee, in the St. Patrick Parish school building, seven blocks from the current facility. The doors will officially open in August with two K5 and two first grade classes, with approximately 20 students per class. The school plans to add two additional classes each year so that it is a full K5 through 4th grade school by the 2015-16 school year. The co-educational, dual immersion school is meant to feed into Notre Dame Middle School and other schools on the near south side of Milwaukee.

Verizon Wireless Inc. has announced a boost in its 4G Long Term Evolution network in more areas of central, southern and eastern Wisconsin. Cities and towns in the expanded 4G coverage area include: Baraboo, Black Earth, Browns Lake, Burlington, Cambridge, Columbus, Cross Plains, Deerfield, Edgerton, Jefferson, Johnson Creek, Lake Ripley, Marshall, Mazomanie, Mt. Horeb, Paddock Lake, Portage, Port Washington, Watertown, and West Baraboo. Verizon Wireless launched its 4G LTE network last June in Kenosha, Madison, Milwaukee, Racine and Wisconsin Dells with coverage extending to Appleton, Green Bay and Oshkosh in October and November of last year.

David J. Frank Landscape Contracting

David J. Frank Landscape Contracting Inc., Germantown, was recently recognized by the Wisconsin Landscape Contractors Association with six new awards for excellence in landscape services, including the Judges’ Choice award.

The Judges’ Choice is equivalent to “best in show,” and was awarded to Timm Hahn of David J. Frank Interiorscapes for his department’s efforts in creating the unique interior gardens at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discover in Madison.

The project also earned a Gold Award in the Special Projects category of the green industry competition. A silver award for residential landscape design was also presented to landscape architect and LEED accredited professional Vance Barnes for his work on the exterior restoration of a 1918 Shorewood home.

A second silver award went to landscape architect Zach Lieven for home landscape maintenance at a Mequon residence. Lieven also received two bronze awards, one for residential landscape maintenance at a Menomonee Falls home and one in the category of special landscape structures for custom pergolas over a patio kitchen in Mequon.

2012 World’s Most Ethical Companies

Wisconsin is well-represented on the Ethisphere Institute’s 2012 World’s Most Ethical Companies List, as ManpowerGroup, Rockwell Automation Inc., Johnson Controls Inc. and Wisconsin Physicians Service Insurance Corp. (WPS) each made the list.

Milwaukee-based ManpowerGroup was named to the list for the second consecutive year. Milwaukee-based Rockwell Automation was named to the list for the fourth time.
