BizLab lays off 34

Menomonee Falls e-commerce and online marketing agency BizLab Inc. laid off 34 employees yesterday.

The move is a permanent workforce reduction, eliminating 19 salaried and 15 hourly positions, according to a WARN notice filed with the state Department of Workforce Development. The positions represent about 34 percent of BizLab’s workforce.

The employees are not represented by a union, so no bumping rights exist. BizLab plans to pay all earned wages and agreed upon benefits to employees on the next scheduled pay date.

The Waukesha-Ozaukee-Washington Workforce Development Board will provide rapid response services.

BizLab was founded in 2003 and had about $24 million in revenue in 2012.

A company representative was not available for comment regarding the matter.
