Centro Legal

Centro Legal, a nonprofit organization that provides legal representation to low-income families, recently received a $1,250 donation from M&I Corporation as part of its annual Cinco de Mayo celebration. Each year on Cinco de Mayo, M&I grants a donation to a local organization that serves Milwaukee’s Hispanic community and that emobides the diversity that M&I Corporation strives to support in our community. Centro Legal serves a diverse client group; 40 percent of clients are Hispanic, 30 percent are Caucasian, 24 percent are African American, and five percent are Asian. Half of the nonprofit organization’s staff are bilingual and are adept at serving 25 percent of clients who are Spanish-speaking. Centro Legal assists clients in family court and criminal misdemeanor court, helping individuals and families transition toward safety, stability and independence. 

Zilli Hospitality Group

Zilli Hospitality Group, Waukesha, has been selected as the new caterer of record for the 41st annual U.S. Bank Championship, July 14–20, at Brown Deer Golf Course. Under the agreement, Zilli Hospitality Group will provide catering to the tournament’s corporate tents and chalets on the 18th green and in the clubhouse for the players.

Zilli has also been selected as the new hospitality partner of record for Milwaukee Boat Line LLC. Zilli Hospitality Group will provide cruising customers with experiences for dinner, cocktails, Friday fish frys and Sunday brunch boat tours and cruises.

ReServe Interactive

ReServe Interactive, Delafield, recently announced a new brand strategy designed to enhance the company’s identity and elevate the look and feel of existing communications. The newly developed approach includes revised brand positioning, as well as a re-designed web site and software interface, corporate collateral and marketing materials. In August of 2007, ReServe Interactive partnered with BrandCulture Company of Los Angeles to develop a clear and cohesive brand strategy, including an elevated visual vocabulary and key messages that represent ReServe’s business culture and product offering, and distinguishes ReServe from its competitors. As part of the branding strategy, a new color palette has been established to provide a more sophisticated look that speaks directly to ReServe’s accomplished customer base. In addition, a new corporate tagline – ReServe Interactive – You’ve Never Worked Like This Before – has been developed to represent how ReServe’s software offering allows end-users to conduct business in a more efficient, dynamically different way.

Seroka

Seroka, an integrated marketing communications firm in Waukesha, has created a marketing playbook geared specifically for companies offering and promoting reverse mortgage products. The Reverse Mortgage Marketing Playbook offers comprehensive, step-by-step instructions on how to design and build a high-impact integrated marketing communications plan. Purchasers of the book receive a “play-by-play’ on web site development, collateral development, public relations, how to book seminars and speaking engagements, direct mail and advertising. Simma’s Bakery

Simma’s Bakery, Milwaukee, will celebrate 25 years serving Wisconsin consumers. In 1983, Simma’s Bakery was formed by of Simma Yundov, a Russian immigrant who spoke limited English, but brought hard work and a sense of taste to Wisconsin. Simma’s daughter, Irina Yundov, has continued the Simma’s tradition for over a decade. Simma’s has been recognized among the top 25 bakeries in the U.S., by The International Restaurant and Hospitality Ratings Bureau.

Ruekert/Mielke, Inc.

Ruekert/Mielke, a multi-disciplinary municipal consulting firm in Waukesha, recently announced the formation of the Municipal Economics & Planning Division. The company said that the formation of a separate division reflects its specialized expertise in the areas of inter-municipal agreements, impact fees, sewer and water rate studies, utility acquisitions, development impact analysis, development review, zoning ordinance preparation, comprehensive planning, outdoor recreational plans, park design, and landscape architecture.

Briggs & Stratton cutting 27 local jobs

Wauwatosa-based Briggs & Stratton Corp. recently notified state and local officials that it is eliminating 27 jobs at the company’s Burleigh Plant at 3300 N. 124th St. in Wauwatosa. Thirteen of the jobs that are being eliminated are in the automatic punch press department. The other jobs are in the maintenance, automatic components, production stores, tool room, degreaser and central crib departments.

The employees affected by the job cuts are members of Local 2-232, United Steel Workers International Union, the company said.

Milwaukee-based Manpower’s blog (www.manpowerblogs.com/toth), written and moderated by Manpower North America’s chief legal officer Mark Toth, received Official Honoree distinction for the 12th Annual Webby Awards – the Oscars of the Internet. Formally titled the Manpower Employment Law Blawg – Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Employment Law (But Didn’t Want to Pay a Lawyer to Ask), the site was the only blog recognized in the Best Legal Website category. The Webby Awards are the leading international awards honoring excellence

on the Internet, including web sites, interactive advertising, online film and video, and mobile web sites. The awards are judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences and received nearly 10,000 entries from over 60 countries and all 50 states. Out of more than the 10,000 entries submitted, fewer than 15 percent received the honor of being deemed an official honoree. Toth also recently received a Bell Award from the Business Marketing Association (BMA) of Milwaukee in the Online Communications Program category. Also recognized was the work of Primum Marketing Communications, Manpower’s creative partner.
