Seroka

Advertising and marketing firm Seroka, Waukesha, has developed a program to provide clients with the ability to develop internal communications programs and ways to help their management teams become better leaders. Seroka Professional Training (SPT) will kick off in April and will begin first with monthly marketing breakfasts for marketing professionals throughout the area. Kicking off the second quarter of 2008, topics include: 11 Steps to a High-Impact Public Relations Campaign, 360 Research, Positioning Your Brand Before Your Competitors Do, and Turning Satisfied Customers Into Loyal Customers. In addition to training on a variety of marketing topics, we also provide Leadership Effectiveness Training where people learn, practice and take away highly effective leadership skills. Some of the topics covered include:  Five leadership behaviors that kill productivity, How to eliminate an “us vs. them” culture, Nine reasons leaders fail, IQ has nothing to do with productivity, it’s EQ that matters most, Uncover real problems quickly before it’s too late, Help people solve their own problems, and How to lead two steps behind SPT is ideal for anyone who assumes a leadership role in their organization. It is a 3-day course that can be taught on site or at Seroka’s offices.

West Bend Mutual

West Bend Mutual Insurance Company’s Independent Agents’ Fund, Menomonee Falls, has awarded a $10,000 grant to support the Community Outreach Health Clinic, located at Community Memorial Hospital. The Community Outreach Health Clinic serves the primary outpatient medical needs of the growing number of uninsured and underinsured people in Waukesha, Washington and northern Milwaukee counties who are unable to afford basic health care. Services are made possible through in-kind support from Community Memorial Hospital and a wide network of other providers; the dedicated efforts of more than 100 clinical and support volunteers; and generous financial support from the community.  In 2007, the clinic provided more than 1,900 individuals with immediate medical care, referral to professional or community resources and case management to help chronically-ill patients improve their health through education and lifestyle changes.

Spectrum Digital Services, Hartland, recently launched a new website located at http://www.spectrumdigitalservices.com. The new website, which was designed by KSK Design of Milwaukee, includes an idea gallery for CD and DVD usages as well as online ordering and downloadable templates. Spectrum Digital Services was founded in 1998 by Russell Gnant. The company, which serves customers coast-to-coast with contract screen printing, duplicating and packaging services, is located at 600 Northshore Drive in Hartland.

Concordia University Wisconsin

Concordia University Wisconsin, Mequon, officials and members of the Cudahy Chamber of Commerce recently announced that they have reached an agreement for the university to begin offering its accelerated Adult Education Business Management degree program at the Cudahy library on Monday evenings starting in September. Concordia’s accelerated programs are convenient for adults whose personal and work schedules make full-time, traditional study impossible. The programs meet one evening per week for a four-hour session, and students earn three credits in as little as four to six weeks. Transfer credits, as well as credits for experiential learning, are also accepted. Financial Aid will be available for qualified students. For additional information on the new Cudahy Adult Education Program or to receive an application for admission, call Robert Nowak at (262) 243-4500. Enrollment procedures are simple and straightforward, and students can be admitted after only one meeting with an admissions counselor.

Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls, has earned the Gold Seal of Approval for Primary Stroke Centers from the Joint Commission. Community Memorial earned this distinction after the Joint Commission conducted an on-site review in January. The Joint Commission’s Primary Stroke Center Certification is based on the recommendations for primary stroke centers published by the Brain Attack Coalition and the American Stroke Association’s statements/guidelines for stroke care. The Joint Commission launched the program — the nation’s first — in 2003. Community Memorial Hospital, which specializes in cardiac care, women’s health, cancer care and advanced surgical procedures, is a member of Froedtert & Community Health.

 

Medical Associates Health Center

Medical Associates Health Centers has been selected as one of the best places to work in Southeastern Wisconsin by The Management Association and Milwaukee Magazine. Medical Associates Health Centers is one of nine companies with more than 500 employees to earn this year’s Best Places to Work honors.  From an applicant pool of hundreds of employers, 37 small, medium and large companies were chosen to receive the honor.  The winners were selected using a sophisticated scoring system based on a combination of company practice surveys and anonymous employee surveys.  The Best Places to Work was established by Milwaukee Magazine to recognize companies who have established a culture that promotes an employment environment dedicated to employee advocacy, rich benefits, strong leadership, and meaningful and purposeful contributions to the community.  Medical Associates Health Centers’ six multi-specialty clinics are located in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha, Sussex, Germantown, and Hartford, with additional locations for behavioral health and rehabilitation services.

Waukesha County Higher Education Coalition

The Waukesha County Higher Education Coalition was formed to bring together all parties vested in public higher education and workforce development in Waukesha County to identify specific areas of study and types of degrees required by businesses, identify the degree needs and interests of current and future students, and understand the economomic trend data in relationship to workforce needs to create economic prosperity in Waukesha County.

Avanade opens downtown Milwaukee office
Avanade Inc., a global information technology consultancy, has opened an office in downtown Milwaukee.

The new office in the Wisconsin Center along Kilbourn Avenue will be the local hub for 50 employees and consultants focusing on application development for the automotive and industrial manufacturing, consumer goods and financial services industries.

“With an emerging customer base in several industries across the Midwest, our Wisconsin office ensures Avanade will provide local customers with deep and comprehensive services on the Microsoft platform,” said Joseph Mendel, general manager of the Seattle-based company’s central region. “Although we’ve been working with Wisconsin companies through our Chicago location since 2003, this new office gives us a dedicated workforce to offer more efficient service for local clients.”

With a larger, local workforce, Avanade is committed to building a significant presence in Wisconsin and delivering lower cost solutions to customers. The Wisconsin office provides Avanade with the capacity to build deeper relationships with local customers and partners in the area by participating in more industry and community events.
