Scheibel Halaska

Scheibel Halaska, Milwaukee, has welcomed a new international partner with the addition of Tokyo-based TrainTracks to the IPREX network.

IPREX is one of the world’s largest public relations networks and is made up of leading, independent PR agencies in major markets worldwide. Its purpose is to offer public relations excellence to clients, wherever their businesses take them. Scheibel Halaska is the IPREX representative for the state of Wisconsin. TrainTracks is IPREX’s 69th partner. Managing director Yukiko Harada and his staff bring both B2B and B2C expertise to IPREX in Japan. The network represents 69 independent agencies, in 30 countries, with 90 offices. The network has access to over 1,170 professional staff and annual billings of over $125 million.

Stein Gardens & Gifts

Menomonee Falls-based Stein Gardens & Gifts has awarded its marketing communications account to independent agency Jacobson Rost. Work will include brand planning, as well as digital, print, TV and radio advertising, in-store merchandising, social media and public relations. Family-owned Stein Gardens & Gifts has 16 stores and is the second largest independently owned garden center business in the U.S.

Bader Rutter & Associates

Brookfield-based Bader Rutter & Associates has been selected as the agency of record for Portland, Ore.-based insurance company The Standard. The firm is a subsidiary of StanCorp Financial Group Inc. Bader Rutter will handle the company’s strategic marketing and communications plan for its group insurance, asset management and individual disability insurance business groups. As agency of record, Bader Rutter will provide The Standard with strategic counsel and execution of brand asset management, advertising, media services, public relations, relationship marketing, research, and digital strategy and implementation.

Cousin’s Subs

Menomonee-Falls based Cousins Subs Inc., recently held its annual meeting and has awarded Jim and Leah Valentine the Franchisee of the Year Award and the Sales Leadership Award. The Valentines own six Cousin Subs restaurants and have been franchise owners since 1985. The company also awarded Douglas and Lisa Krekling, owners of three Cousins Subs restaurants in Washington County, with the Guest Service Award for consistently delivering the highest level of guest service, which is determined through mystery shopper reports, guest comments and corporate staff observations. Thomas Jones, owner of four Cousins Subs restaurants in metro Milwaukee, was also awarded the Marketing Award of Excellence for going above and beyond to increase awareness of the Cousin Subs brand. Jones has been a Cousins franchisee since 2006.

Idea Factory Inc.

Patty Mueller, chief executive officer of the Idea Factory Inc. in Menomonee Falls, has been selected as the winner of the first Nielsen Consumer Products Enhancement Competition. As the winner, Idea Factory will receive $10,000 cash, $10,000 of in-kind Nielsen consulting services and the opportunity to present one of its new products to Walgreens. The Nielsen Consumer Products Enhancement Competition required applicants to complete an on-line submission of five essay questions and have business leaders review submissions.

UW-Parkside

UW-Parkside School of Business and Technology, Kenosha, has maintained its business accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business-International. Fewer than five percent of business schools worldwide earn this accreditation in management education. To maintain accreditation, UW-Parkside’s business program underwent an internal and external review. The university’s program successfully demonstrated its continued commitment to the AACSB’s 21 quality standards relating to faculty qualification, strategic management of resources, interactions of faculty and students, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement and achievement of learning goals in its degree programs. Through July 2010, 596 member institutions in 37 countries hold AACSB accreditation.

Godfrey & Kahn

Milwaukee-based Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. was recently recognized by the American Society for Training & Development as a Champion of Learning for its successful implementation of Employee Learning Week. Employee Learning Week is an awareness campaign highlighting the important connection between learning and achieving organizational results. Godfrey & Kahn participated in the week-long event by hosting daily interactive learning seminars, sending out daily learning and development tips in firm-wide communications and offering one-on-one sessions for employees interested in learning more about professional development.
