City of Waukesha

The Wisconsin Chapter of the American Planning Association has acknowledged the Central City Master Plan in the City of Waukesha as an outstanding Plan Document. The Central City Master Plan focuses on updating Waukesha’s central city neighborhoods in line with changes in the city’s financial means and physical needs. Waukesha’s Common Council approved funding for the plan in 2010 and hired Graef – USA, Inc., headquartered in Milwaukee, to help complete the plan. Waukesha also relied on input from community members in designing the plan, which encompasses market studies, redevelopment initiatives and approaches to solve issues like traffic movement. The plan was approved by the Redevelopment Authority and accepted by the Common Council earlier this year. The Redevelopment Authority will enact the master plan over the next 10 years.
