The Water Council and the Milwaukee Institute

The Water Council and the Milwaukee Institute have established a new partnership to “accelerate water-based product development and research utilizing Wisconsin’s very own high performance computing and storage resources.” Through the partnership, the Milwaukee Institute, a nonprofit organization, will offer its high performance computational (HPC) systems and services to Global Water Center tenants. The nonprofit recently invested $500,000 to double the capacity of its HPC infrastructure, and its HPC resources will assist Global Water Center tenants with modeling, simulation, visualization and analytics in water research areas like computational biology, fluid dynamics and finite element analysis. A.O. Smith Corp. will be the first Global Water Center tenant to use the Institute’s HPC services. Other companies are currently exploring how to incorporate the Institute’s services into their product development and design process.
