Safe Babies Healthy Families

Nancy Major, executive director of Safe Babies Healthy Families, has been honored with a Waukesha “Key to the City” in recognition of her leadership and community service efforts. Major was one of a dozen business, government and nonprofit leaders awarded by Mayor Jeff Scrima at a common council meeting in December. Major has been the head of Safe Babies Healthy Families, formerly named the Pregnancy Support Connection, since 2008 and has influenced the growth of its staff and outreach services. She also helped facilitate a 2012 merger of the Pregnancy Support Connection and Healthy Families of Waukesha into the organization existing today. Safe Babies Healthy Families offers intervention, support and education services to parents struggling with finances, health and social resources to promote more stable living environments.

Skyline Technologies

Skyline Technologies has been honored with the Pedestal Partner Award for Invaluable Contribution to Tech Data’s TD Cloud Program. The IT services firm received the award from Tech Data, one of Microsoft’s biggest distribution channel partners, during Tech Data’s TD Cloud Partner Summit held in Florida in January. Tech Data selected Skyline Technologies from hundreds of IT partners involved in the TD Cloud Program for the firm’s efforts in expanding its Microsoft Office 365 practice customer base and client sales. Skyline Technologies, which is based in Green Bay with offices in Milwaukee and Appleton, has been partnering with Tech Data since early 2012.

Kohler Co. Hospitality & Real Estate Group

The American Club resort hotel, located in Kohler, Wis., and owned by the Kohler Co. Hospitality & Real Estate Group, has received the AAA Five-Diamond award for the 28th consecutive year. The AAA Five-Diamond Award, which ranks highest among the awards granted by AAA, recognizes luxury, detailed services and amenities, and overall excellence in hotels and restaurants. The American Club’s golf courses have also been highlighted as top courses in Golf Digest 100 Greatest Rankings. The club’s Straits course at Whistling Straits was listed as #2 in 100 Greatest Public Golf courses.

Exhibit Systems

Exhibit Systems, an exhibit company catering to trade shows and events, has relocated its office and production and showroom space from Menomonee Falls to Brookfield. The company moved to a 46,000-square-foot building located at 12600 W. Burleigh Rd. in January. The new facility is more than double the space of the old location, where Exhibit Systems had resided since 2006. The Brookfield building, previously occupied by Koconis Industries before standing empty for a number of years, was remodeled both internally and externally to fit the needs of the 20-year-old exhibit company. With the move, Exhibit Systems’ phone number will change to 262-432-8410. Its toll free number remains the same at 877-252-5065.

Marquette University

Dr. Howard Fuller, professor of education at Marquette University, has been recognized with the annual Martin Luther King, Jr., Heritage Award for making strides in race relations, justice and human rights and committing himself to community service. Fuller received the award from Gov. Scott Walker during the State of Wisconsin’s 33rd annual tribute and ceremony held in the Capitol Rotunda in Madison in January. Fuller founded the Institute for the Transformation of Learning at Marquette in 1995 and currently serves as its director, working to improve K-12 education in Milwaukee and on a national scope for students of low-income families and students suffering from insufficient education systems. He is a former superintendent of Milwaukee Public Schools and has spent his career advocating quality education.
