Momentum Milwaukee
A new professional group, Momentum Milwaukee, has been formed for women in the first half of their careers. The group caters to women in professional sales and roles involving direct client relationship building, including banking, financial services, law, accounting and community outreach.
It aims to provide support and collaboration for young female professionals in the area. Momentum Milwaukee meets every other month for networking events that allow members to share challenges, concerns, accomplishments and opportunities with each other. The board of directors includes: Sasha Korobova, Wells Fargo Bank; Lindsay Roggenbuck, Vrakas/Blum; Jess Albrecht, Wells Fargo Advisors LLC; Meghan Shannon, Reinhart Law; and Jill Boyle, Schenck S.C. St. Francis Children’s Center
St. Francis Children’s Center, of Glendale, has announced the honorees to be saluted at its 2014 Awards Banquet taking place on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at The Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee. The annual awards recognize three area leaders who have made a considerable impact on their community. Presenting the awards will be co-chairs Elizabeth Brenner, president and publisher of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and Brad Chapin, executive vice president of U.S. Business Banking for BMO Harris. The Children’s Center will present Peggy Troy, president and chief executive officer of Children’s Hospital and Health System, with the Wisconsin Children’s Service Award. Gregory Wesley, equity partner at Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan LLP, will be honored with the center’s Community Service Award. Stephen Roell, retired chairman and chief executive officer of Johnson Controls Inc., and his wife, Shelagh, will be recognized with the Humanitarian Award. Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce
The Greater Brookfield Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the fifth annual Sustainable Brookfield Business Event on Thursday, Nov. 13, at First Bank Financial Centre, 12600 W. North Ave. in Brookfield. The program informs area businesses about sustainable business practices and also honors companies operating with a sustainable mindset. Businesses that are located in Waukesha County and have an interest in being saluted during the celebration are encouraged to complete an application on the chamber’s website, www.brookfieldchamber.com. The event, free to attend, will run from 8 to 9 a.m. Advanced registration is required.
Safe Babies Healthy Families
Safe Babies Healthy Families, a Waukesha-based nonprofit that supports at-risk families and children by providing resources in finances, health and social services, has been accredited as a provider of high quality home visiting services. The accreditation was granted by Healthy Families America, a national home visiting program model that addresses care of infants, healthy child development, and nutrition among other aspects of raising a family. HFA is a trademark of Prevent Child Abuse America, a national organization dedicated to the healthy development of children. To secure accreditation, Safe Babies Healthy Families was evaluated on 12 elements. The organization’s site was also reviewed along with the quality of its home visits.
