Beer Lovers Festival to return

Beer connoisseurs and novices alike will be able to sample craft beer from 34 craft breweries throughout the state at this year’s Wisconsin Beer Lovers Festival.

The fourth annual festival, scheduled for Saturday, June 15, at Bayshore Town Center, will also offer patrons food selections from area chefs, Wisconsin cheese producers and brewpubs, who will be specifically paired with craft breweries to complement their craft beer creations.

Hosts of the festival include Welcome to Glendale, the City of Glendale’s Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Wisconsin Brewer’s Guild and DRAFT Magazine.

“After three successful years, the fourth annual festival has become a necessary destination for Wisconsin craft breweries and beer lovers,” said Jeff Hamilton, president of Sprecher Brewery in Glendale and president of the Wisconsin Brewer’s Guild. “Its unique atmosphere, unlimited sampling options and opportunities to meet with brew masters and chefs is perfectly situated in Glendale with its added bonus of shopping, dining and entertainment options.”

A “Best of Show” competition at the 2013 festival will award a designated brewery with bragging rights to the “Glendale Cup.” This year’s event will also include live music from the Brewhaus Polka Kings, and one attendee will take home a wheelbarrow of beer stocked with rare beers, seasonal beers and favorites from the craft breweries on site.

Tickets for the festival are now on sale at www.wisconsinbeerloversfest.com. Advance tickets cost $40, and tickets at the door cost $50. Participants, who must be 21 or older, will receive a souvenir beer glass and have unlimited access to samples. Attendees under age 21 along with designated drivers can gain admission with a “Food Lovers Ticket” for $20.

Guests from out of town can stay at the Hilton Milwaukee River and the Radisson Milwaukee North Shore at discounted rates. For more information about special rates and additional details about the festival, visit www.wisconsinbeerloversfest.com.
