Batteries Plus Bulbs names former Cabela’s exec as CEO

Scott Williams will take over Jan. 2

Hartland-based Batteries Plus Bulbs has named former Cabela’s president Scott Williams as its new chief executive officer starting Jan. 2.

“On behalf of the entire board of directors, we are excited that someone of Scott’s caliber and experience will be leading Batteries Plus Bulbs through its next phase of growth,” said Tom O’Hare, current interim CEO of Batteries Plus Bulbs. “His impressive track record of leadership and his strategic vision, which includes omni-channel strategy and marketing expertise, uniquely qualifies him for this role.”

O’Hare will continue as a board member, advisor and shareholder of the specialty retailer of batteries, light bulbs and services.

“The company’s robust franchise network, expert service, and unique product capabilities provide an unmatched value proposition,” Williams said. “I look forward to building upon the company’s many competitive advantages.”
