Batali to make Milwaukee appearance at new Bartolotta restaurant

The Bartolotta Restaurants will welcome nationally renowned chef Mario Batali, to its newest venue, Downtown Kitchen, on Friday, Oct. 24, for a cookbook dinner and meet and greet.

Batali, owner of 24 restaurants in New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Singapore, and Hong Kong, gained fame for his TV appearance and host roles on “Iron Chef America” and ABC’s “The Chew.”

Batali, who also is part owners of “Eataly” in New York City and Chicago, has won multiple James Beard Awards, a set of annual awards presented by the James Beard Foundation to honor excellence in the food and beverage industry. The highly acclaimed awards, presented in North America, recognize top chefs, restaurateurs, cookbook authors, food journalists, restaurant designers, architects and more.

“Mario is a great chef, author and TV personality,” said John Wise, director of operations for The Bartolotta Restaurants, a Milwaukee-based restaurant group. “He and Paul Bartolotta have been friends for years. We’re very happy to welcome him to his first Milwaukee event and to the first event we’re holding at Downtown Kitchen.”

During the dinner event, Bartolotta’s culinary team will prepare a multi-course dinner from recipes included in Batali’s latest cookbook, “America – Farm to Table: Simple, Delicious Recipes Celebrating Local Farmers.”

Guests will have an opportunity to talk to Batali about the book and his cooking background and will also receive a signed copy of his book.

The event costs $125 per person. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Tickets are available here.

Downtown Kitchen, located in the U.S. Bank Center, will officially open early next month.
