Bartolotta to open new restaurant at former Eagan’s on Water

Organizations:

Eagan’s restaurant at 1000 N. Water St. in downtown Milwaukee has closed and will be replaced by a Bartolotta gastropub in autumn, according to Bartolotta Restaurant Group general manager John Wise.

It will be the first such concept for the Bartolottas, who also own Harbor House, Lake Park Bistro, Bacchus and a number of other area restaurants.

"Gastro-pubs have become increasingly popular across the country. This concept combines elements of quality food that is approachable and reasonably priced in a comfortable bar environment." said owner Joe Bartolotta in a statement. "A broad variety of beverage options including craft beers and unique cocktails will be also featured."

Wise said the renovations to the former Eagan’s space will begin on June 1 and are expected to last four months, with a projected opening date around Oct. 1.

Eagan’s – named for a popular teacher at Marquette University High School Father John R. Eagan Sr. – opened in 1993. It was run by the Pandl family that also operated the former Pandl’s in Bayside and Pandl’s Catering Complete.
