Barrett doubles down on sustainable economic growth

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett is ramping up the linkage between environmentally sustainable practices and products with the city’s economic future.
The City of Milwaukee’s solar program, Milwaukee Shines, and Summit Credit Union are partnering to offer financing to city residents for solar panel installation.
The city has partnered with Summit Credit Union to offer low-interest solar loans for city homeowners, with a $1,000 incentive for the first twenty participants in the loan program.
Summit Credit Union will leverage donated funds to make a total of $2 million in solar loans available to Milwaukee residents.
Barrett is kicking off the program at a reception today at the South Shore Park Pavilion.
