Barca predicts recall effort will succeed

During a WisPolitics luncheon at the Wisconsin Club in Milwaukee, Assembly Minority Leader Peter Barca, D-Kenosha, said "people in Wisconsin are very upset" with Gov. Scott Walker and predicted sufficient signatures likely will be collected to force a recall election.
Wisconsin needs to get back to a non-partisan approach, Barca said, adding that the governor plays a key role in that.
"Had he made more of an effort to do that, over the course of this summer and this fall, he might have been able to forestall this recall from taking place," Barca said.
Barca predicted that the number of signatures "will be somewhat of a barometer" of Walker’s chances of retaining his seat. "I think if there were a large number like there were in Ohio, that would be a signal that people are hopping mad," Barca said.
Barca told WisPolitics that he "probably will" sign a recall petition against Walker.
Barca told attendees that he would consider challenging Walker for the governor’s office if other veteran Democrats don’t step up, such as Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett or U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl.
