Walker’s Point Youth and Family is proud to announce that Executive Director, Audra O’Connell will be receiving the “Emerging Leader” Award from the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee.
O’Connell was one of five winners to accept a Nonprofit Excellence Award at the Nonprofit Leadership Summit at the Best Place at the Pabst Complex on Thursday, October 13th.
The Nonprofit Leadership Summit is an interactive day-long exploration event that will gather 300-400 nonprofit leaders to learn about new directions in Milwaukee’s nonprofit sector.
O’Connell can add this to her growing accomplishments as she received “Graduate of the Last
Decade Award (Undergraduate)” from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee this past July. This award is given to 22 individuals and one corporate partner basted on their outstanding professional achievements, civic involvement and partnerships with the university.
Walker’s Point Youth and Family Center has been focused on meeting the needs of runaway, homeless, and other troubles youth and their families from Milwaukee’s diverse communities by providing services to empower youth, help them resolve personal and family problems, strengthen family relationships, and support safe and stable homes since 1976.
