AT&T improves wireless network at State Fair

The Wisconsin State Fair kicks off today in West Allis and AT&T is enhancing its cell sites to give visitors better wireless service on the fairgrounds, the company announced Wednesday.

With state fair attendance expected to be about 900,000, AT&T said it is working to accommodate the mass of smartphone users who will rely on their phones to capture their fair experience for others to see.

“Events like the Wisconsin State Fair generate memorable experiences that our customers will want to share with friends and family through text messages, photos, status updates on social networks and calls from their mobile devices,” said Dave Fine, AT&T’s vice president and general manager for Wisconsin and Illinois.

AT&T’s developments are permanent and will boost both the reliability and data speeds on fairgrounds, the company said.
