Assurant Health to boost nonprofit efforts with $240,000

Milwaukee-based Assurant Health has committed $240,000 in grants to eight area nonprofit organizations fighting hunger and homelessness as well as promoting health and wellness for at-risk children.

Each grant is being awarded through the Assurant Foundation, the health insurance company’s charitable arm.

“Improving the wellbeing of children and families through partnerships and community outreach is the legacy of Assurant Health,” said Adam Lamnin, president and chief executive officer of the company. “We are proud to partner with and support the important work of these eight charities that play such an important role in our Milwaukee community.”

Assurant Health will award:

*$50,000 to Guest House
*$50,000 to Hunger Task Force
*$50,000 to the Milwaukee Rescue Mission
*$40,000 to Pathfinders, Inc.
*$20,000 to Penfield’s Children Center
*$10,000 to Children’s Hospital Clinic inside COA Golden Center
*$10,000 to PEARLS for Teen Girls
*$10,000 to the Ronald McDonald House

The Assurant Foundation, which has grown over the last 30 years, primarily works with organizations focused on health and wellness, homes and property, and hometown help.
