Area businesses named Marketplace Governor’s Awards finalists

Award-240441583-Shutterstock.jpgMore than a dozen area businesses have been named finalists in the 2015 Marketplace Governor’s Awards, which recognize Wisconsin businesses owned by minorities, women and veterans with service disabilities.

The state has announced 21 awards finalists total.

This year’s Marketplace Governor’s Awards program drew applications from more than 200 businesses across Wisconsin. The program salutes large and small businesses and contains two categories. The Outstanding Business Award highlights established businesses that have demonstrated the ability to grow in the last five years and plan to continue accelerating growth in the future. The Rising Star Award congratulates businesses started after 2010 with promising growth potential.

Award winners will be announced on Friday, Oct. 30, at Marketplace 2015, the Governor’s Conference on Minority Business Development. Winners will be celebrated during a luncheon at the conference, which will be held at Potawatomi Expo Center in Milwaukee.

Finalists for the Outstanding Large Business Awards are:
*Hurt Electric Inc. of Menomonee Falls
*Wangard Partners Inc. of Wauwatosa
*Great Lakes Power Vac LLC of Waukesha
*IBC Engineering Services Inc. of Waukesha
*Share Corp. of Milwaukee
*KL Engineering, which has offices in Madison, Green Bay and Menomonie
*Applied Fab and Machining of Wausau

Finalists for the Outstanding Small Business Awards are:
*Weatherization Services LLC of Milwaukee
*Innovative Dynamic Networks Inc. of Racine
*Moore & Associates Inc. of Kenosha
*M Squared Engineering LLC of Cedarburg
*L.P. Mooradian Flooring Co. of Green Bay
*Allcon LLC of Butler
*US Vet LLC of Madison

Finalists for the Rising Star Awards are:
*Physical Therapy of Milwaukee LLC
*P3 Development Group of Milwaukee
*Wonderist Agency of Germantown
*HB Laser Art LLC of Kenosha
*Pino & Sons Remodeling LLC of Sun Prairie
*Sanchez Coating & Environmental LLC of Wausau
*Attract of Saint Croix Falls

Marketplace 2015 runs on Thursday, Oct. 29, and Friday, Oct. 30, with an emphasis on helping businesses owned by minorities, women and veterans. This year’s conference is sold out and will have about 600 attendees.
