Applause – Celebrating the entrepreneurial journey

Over the years, Small Business Times has often chronicled how the concepts for successful businesses were first scribbled on the back of a cocktail napkin or on a chalkboard in a basement or a garage.

Using a $35,000 second mortgage on his home and capital raised from a handful of associates, the late Harry Quadracci launched Quad/Graphics Inc. on July 13, 1971, in an abandoned millwork factory in Pewaukee.

Harry’s life became an amazing American entrepreneurial journey.

That’s why Small Business Times is proud to present the Bravo! Entrepreneur Lifetime Achievement Award posthumously to Harry, and we’re thrilled that his family and other key people at Quad/Graphics were on hand to accept the award on his behalf.

In only its fourth year, the Lifetime Achievement Award is gaining in stature. Previous recipients were entrepreneurs George Dalton, Robert Kern and Joseph Zilber. Add Harry to that list, and you’ve got an impressive roster of Wisconsin business leaders who changed the Milwaukee region, creating thousands of family-supporting jobs.

In this publication, you’ll learn more about the winners of the IQ (Innovation Quotient) Awards and Bravo! Entrepreneur, which were presented by Small Business Times at the BizTech Expo April 30-May 1.

SBT is proud to tell their stories.
