American Idol star in Milwaukee

American Idol star Danny Gokey was in town this week shooting television spots for a marketing deal with New Berlin-based Wisconsin Vision locations.
Wisconsin Vision executives signed its largest ever marketing investment with the celebrity spokesman a few weeks ago, and began shooting commercials this week.
“We just think it’s an incredible fit,” co-owner Paul George said. “We’re a family owned business, and Danny’s personality and Milwaukee roots just fit with our business and our business model almost perfectly.”
Under the agreement, Gokey will wear up to 60 pairs of Wisconsin Vision glasses, be featured in Wisconsin Vision Milwaukee-area marketing campaigns including television and outdoor advertising and social media, and make personal in-store appearances. “Milwaukee will always be home and supporting area-based businesses is important to me,” Gokey said. “I’m known for my eyewear. With Wisconsin Vision I will not only have the best in fashion, but also the most accurate lenses available made right here in Wisconsin by a family-owned company.”
“Danny he specifically talks about glasses and fashion,” said Darren Horndasch, president and chief executive officer of Wisconsin Vision. “We really want to dwell on the fact that we consistently make quality products and our value model emphasizes the best in quality. Now, with Danny’s help, we can focus on a certain style to wearing glasses along with the quality product we’ve consistently offered.”
