Amazon hiring for 1,000 new positions in Kenosha

Amazon, which hired 1,000 employees this spring for its new Kenosha fulfillment center, has revealed it is now hiring for another 1,000 full-time positions.

The Seattle-based retailer is seeking full-time fulfillment associates on all shifts for the massive 1.1 million square foot fulfillment center, and will be making on-the-spot job offers at a recruitment event at the Kenosha County Job Center on Thursday.

The company added the jobs as a result of international customer demand, said Nina Lindsey, Amazon spokesperson. Amazon is also adding thousands of other fulfillment jobs nationwide, including in 1,200 in Louisville, Ky. and 500 in Hebron, Ky., she said.

“This current round of hiring is all due to customer demand, so that is something we will watch closely and then hire based on that customer demand,” Lindsey said.

Fulfillment associate roles start at $12 per hour, but the pay varies depending on position and schedule, Lindsey said. Employees are offered a competitive rate of pay and a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) with employer match, stock and bonuses. After a year, employees are eligible for the Career Choice program, which allows them to go back to school for courses in in-demand fields, whether or not they match with roles available at Amazon.
