Alterra Coffee will open its newest cafe, located at the corner of 68th and Wells Streets in Wauwatosa, on Sunday, June 30.
The café will have six fully operable, windowed garage doors to give an outdoor feel. Other features include a custom fireplace indoors and an outdoor patio fire pit.
Designs for the café followed the direction of artists Joe and Janice Niedzialkowski in collaboration with The Kubala Washatko Architects.
“This was an opportunity to create exactly what we wanted…as opposed to fitting it into an existing space, which also can yield great, unforeseen results,” says Alterra co-owner Lincoln Fowler.
“This is an amazing, artful building. We are excited to open our doors, literally all of them, and become part of this great neighborhood,” said Alterra’s director of marketing, Scott Schwebel.
