Alpha Source, Inc., Milwaukee, was recently named the Community Business Partner of 2017 by the Granville Business Improvement District (BID) in response to its community programs.
The award honors the company that most demonstrates the Granville BID’s mission to engage with and improve the surrounding communities. The announcement was made at the Granville BID’s Annual Awards Celebration on November 28, 2017. This is the second year the Granville BID recognized companies with the Granville Business Awards. The Granville area of Milwaukee’s northwest side is home to the most concentrated base of industrial employment in Wisconsin, with more than 300 businesses totaling to more than 14,000 employees.
“Granville is home to many great businesses and many are silently growing in Granville, investing in Granville, and being great stewards for the entire community,” said Mary Hoehne, Executive Director of the Granville BID. “Alpha Source cares about its daytime community and the people who live here who have daily basic needs not being met, and has provided necessities for hundreds of families and children in Granville. The team’s concern and generosity earned Alpha Source our Community Partner Award.”
A few of the contributions made by the employees of Alpha Source in 2017 included: a hat and mitten drive for children in need of cold-weather clothing; a winter food drive to assist those in need at the Woodlands Housing Area; clean-up programs on Earth Day; donation of 80 backpacks with school supplies for local children; donation of hand-tied blankets, made by Alpha Source employees, to the Ronald McDonald House; and Giving Tree donations which supplied Christmas gifts to 45 children in need.
