The Travel Channel aired Food Wars Milwaukee Burger show Wednesday evening and officially announced that Joe Sorge at AJ Bombers prevailed in the match-up for Best Milwaukee Burger over Dave Sobelman of Sobelman’s pub and grill.
The Travel Channel aired Food Wars Milwaukee Burger show Wednesday evening and officially announced that Joe Sorge at AJ Bombers prevailed in the matchup for Best Milwaukee Burger over Dave Sobelman of Sobelman’s pub and grill.
Footage for the show was filmed in May of this year, but the outcome of the challenge was kept a secret to most of the community.
The Judges voted three to zero in favor of AJ Bombers’ burger and Sorge earned the right to put Milwaukee’s Best Burger on his menu.
“I knew how (the burger) was going to taste,” Sorge said after he was declared the winner on the show. “We obviously tried that burger and it was absolutely how we wanted to serve it, I’m ecstatic, absolutely ecstatic.”
Sobelman’s has long been called Milwaukee’s favorite burger, and Dave Sobelman is ‘ready for round two, he said on the show.
“We are ready for round two,” Sobelman said. “There’s enough burger business to go around. We got too many people and not enough seats, so that’s ok.”
